Women’s Circle Bible Study Opportunities
Circles
1, 2, and 3 of Presbyterian Women (PW) began meeting in September and
continue to welcome all women to join us. This year we will explore
what it means to hear God's call using this year’s Bible study Above and
Beyond: Hearing God's Call in Jonah and Ruth. Two copies are available in
the library for loan, so don’t hesitate to join circle at your
convenience. For circle meetings dates and locations, please contact us (apc@arlingtonpresbyterian.org).
Our Purpose as Presbyterian Women...
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy
Spirit, we commit ourselves to:
-
Nurture our faith through prayer
and Bible study,
-
Support the mission of the church
worldwide,
-
Work for justice and peace and
-
Build an inclusive, caring community
of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
Who Are Presbyterian Women and What Do We Do?
We are women of all ages, interests,
backgrounds, and talents who have one thing in common:
the desire to make a difference here at Arlington Presbyterian Church, in
our community, and the world. The sharing we do helps us care about and support each other in
special ways. We have three areas of emphasis:
Faith, Mission, and Fellowship.
-
Our
Faith is the backbone of our organization and we
actively seek to develop it through discussion and Bible study.
-
Our commitment to
Mission is shown by our participation in projects
to help our own church, the community, and the church world-wide.
-
The monthly Circle meetings and our other gatherings provide ideal
settings for Christian
Fellowship.
Presbyterian Women demonstrate their commitment to
be an inclusive caring community of women ministry to others by:
-
Serving
as a communication network to notify Circle & other APC
members & friends about congregational emergencies
-
Providing
assistance, such as food & transportation, to APC families
during illness or in the event of death
-
Assisting
the Congregational Care Ministry Team in coordinating &
carrying out receptions after memorials services & other
special events
-
Hosting
coffee hours after worship
-
Coordinating
the Blanket Sunday Offering to provided warm blankets to those who
need them around the world and here in our area
-
Supporting
Guest House, a halfway house for female offenders in Alexandria
-
Providing
bandages & hospital gowns for mission hospitals in third world
countries.

Find the listed Circle time that best
suits your schedule. Contact
us for specific information about a circle and its meeting location.
Each lesson is self-contained and Lent is a great time to try a circle out.
