Christian
Education Curricula: 2007-2008
The 2007-2008 Church School year
has begun. If you want to learn more about God, have fun and
fellowship while you’re at it. Join us and brings your kids,
friends, and family.
Kindergarten - 5th Grade:
Cathia Soughe and Megan Morgan are teaching our
youngest students in rooms 204 and 205. They use a creative mixture
of the best of our children’s Christian Education curricula.
|
Middle
and High School: Linda Peebles and Barbara Shaffer are in our
newly refurbished Faithspace in rooms 201 and 202. They are using Faith in
Motion as the curricula. It’s a life-to-bible series that explores
different topics related to life and to faith using variety of
learning experiences such as worship, field trips, or service projects
Linda and Barbara will also have at their fingertips background
material on how youth relate to the topic in light of the Christian faith.

Searchers:
This group is an adult bible and theological discussion group
using a DVD series called “Living the Questions.” People know that at
its core, Christianity has something good to offer the human race. At the
same time, many have a sense that they are alone in being a
"thinking" Christian and that "salvaging" Christianity
is a hopeless task. What is needed is a safe environment where people have
permission to ask the questions they've always wanted to ask but have been
afraid to voice for fear of being thought a heretic.
Living
the Questions is a 21-week DVD and web-based small group study exploring
beyond the traditions and rote theologies in which so many people and
local churches seem to be stuck. Ideal for Christian invitation,
initiation and spiritual formation, Living the Questions will help seekers
discover the significance of Christianity in the 21st Century and what a
meaningful faith can look like in today's world.

Crossroads:
Don Peebles facilitates this adult bible study using The Present Word in
Geneva Lounge on the lower level. The Present Word curriculum is the basis
for thoughtful discussion
to cultivate greater understanding of the Bible in relation to life
experiences and improve awareness of God’s self-disclosure, especially
God’s redeeming love as revealed in Jesus Christ.
