Besides books, videos, audio cassettes, and CD ROMS,  we have a wonderful variety of periodicals.   Current issues -- and a year of back issues -- are available.  We happily loan magazines for take-home use if you ask and we encourage you to relax with them before or after church service in one of our comfy chairs. We provide links to periodical websites (when possible) to enable you to preview them here.  Just click on the magazine logo or title.  (Unless otherwise noted, all our periodicals are funded by APC's CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Ministry Team.)

For Adults...

Alive Now is designed to help individuals find Christian meaning in their lives as they face challenges at home, at work, and in the community.  It is an innovative, devotional magazine exploring contemporary issues from a faith perspective, encouraging spiritual growth, and revitalizing faith. Each thematic issue is divided into weekly sections that include inspirational stories, meditations, poems, prayers, quotes, scripture readings, and reflection questions.

Biblical Archaeology Review connects the academic study of archaeology to a general audience seeking understanding of the world of the Bible. Covering both the Old and New Testaments, "Biblical Archaeology Review" presents the latest discoveries and controversies in archaeology with breathtaking photography and informative maps and diagrams. Its writers are the top scholars, the leading researchers, and world-renowned experts.

The Christian Century nurtures the faith and examines issues of politics, culture, and theology by analyzing what's happening in church and society, with lively commentary on the lectionary readings; an award winning column; film and book reviews; and a comprehensive roundup of religion news. This magazine stimulates your mind and enlivens your faith.

Cross Currents is the magazine produced by a global network for people of faith and intelligence who are committed to connecting the wisdom of the heart and the life of the mind.  With its motto: "The wisdom of the heart & the life of the mind," its intention is to bring people together across lines of difference around issues of common concern.

The Wittenburg Door is the world's pretty much only religious satire magazine.  This magazine is fittingly named for Martin Luther's heretical action of nailing his thesis to the Wittenburg Door.

Horizons provides information, inspiration and education from the perspectives of women who are committed to Christ, the church and faithful discipleship.  Horizons brings current issues dealing with family life, the mission of the church, and the challenges of culture and society to its readers. Interviews, feature articles, editorials, regular columnists and letters from our readers offer help and insight for up-to-date, day-to-day concerns of the church and individual Christians.

Presbyterians Today (courtesy APC's Congregational Care Ministry Team) The Presbyterian Church (USA) publishes this magazine for the people of the Presbyterian Church (USA), offering information about the Presbyterian Church and its mission, a Christian perspective on contemporary issues, and guidance for daily living.
